The new song from KARMA is a beautiful message titled SIS (She’s Something) about strong women who are so kind and united. This song is for all women, all mothers, sisters, daughters, girlfriends and wives, trans-men who feel they are also Cis ‘SIS’ is so much more than a song, it is reverence of womanhood.
These lyrics used by KARMA just touch the strings illustrating simple affection and support that women constantly provide without demand. The trio wanted to make something intimate, as so many of these things go unseen: In the lyrics, they talk about how women have better ways: they raise children, console friends, or just show up. And the song, I believe, helps to draw attention to these unselfish positions, the value of which is that women offer love and support to others.
Speaking of the music, it is laid-back and melodic with elements of hip-hop and R&B; the tempo is slow, with slow and syrupy rhythms. It has a smooth tempo with the feel of the guitar which is pleasing to the ears besides having hooks that can be replayed over and over. Every singer in KARMA gets involved in recording this song, contributing heartfelt vocals and percussion. Their singing seems to be as friends assembling to narrate their story to other friends – warm and harmonious.
“Sis” is not just song by KARMA but a wake up call to the forgotten heroines in women. Or, more apt, it is the modern generation’s paean to togetherness, might, and niceness, and a universal salute to the real-life superheroes of normal men and women.
