Indie-Pop Artist Kentö Releases New Single, “Everything”

396

NewYorkCity-based pop artist, Kentö, has released his latest single, “Everything.” The truly modern nostalgia-themed track transports you to the surf rock/pop sounds of the late 1960s and references The Beatles, The Doors, The Beach Boys, and The Velvet Underground.

“Everything” intertwines several eras of music and techniques from different genres including surf rock and pop, giving it a timeless essence. Beginning with a soft, almost ethereal sound, it evolves into a moody nostalgic bop, emerging in the chorus which features layers of simple and straightforward vocal riffs. While the track is complex in its use of techniques, it comes together in a distinctive mixture of new and old.

The single is not only an homage to a distinct era of music, but also celebrates one of Kentö’s most impactful musical experiences. After having been mesmerised by the sound of The Beach Boys as a child during his very first concert, Kentö always knew he wanted to create something that evoked the same feeling he had experienced. He especially loved the band’s ability to transport you to any environment through their musicianship, use of vocal layering and signature sound.
