Joey Ocean, the acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician, unveils his debut studio album, a compilation of some of his favorite records. Written by Joey Ocean and featuring collaborations with friends like Krushel Beats, Tango BVNG, Spaaz the Writer, and The Mind of Joey Ocean, the project showcases his signature fusion of classic R&B vibes with modern energy and lyricism. The album highlights Joey’s evolution as an artist, incorporating influences from Afrobeat rhythms to nostalgic 90s melodies, delivering an innovative yet familiar sound.

A lifelong music enthusiast, Joey Ocean’s journey began at just five years old when he attended his first concert—the legendary Michael Jackson. From that formative experience, his passion for melodies and harmonies took root. During his high school years, Joey excelled as a drum major in show-style marching bands, even spending half a semester as part of Florida A&M University’s renowned Marching 100. This immersion in music laid the groundwork for his rich understanding of sound and performance.

Having been signed twice as a recording artist, Joey’s journey has been marked by moments of triumph and reflection. Speaking on his transition to focusing on songwriting and creative independence, Joey shares, “I was just tired of wasting my energy on artists that weren’t serious and labels that were looking for cookie-cutter sounds. It was time to create something that truly represents me.”
