Maggie McClure and Shane Henry, also known as The Imaginaries, are a dynamic husband-and-wife combo who have recently released their version of “Run Rudolph Run,” a Christmas classic originally performed by Chuck Berry. The dynamic duo puts their distinctive stamp on the classic holiday song in this joyous presentation. The song was produced by McClure and Henry and recorded at Cypress Moon Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, earlier this year.
“Run Rudolph Run” is the newest installment in The Imaginaries’ discography, following the popularity of previous singles such as “Things Are Gonna Be Alright,” “This Christmas,” and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” These songs were featured in the Netflix original film A COWGIRL’S SONG, in which McClure and Henry not only starred but also made their directorial debut. They also composed and produced the full original motion picture music.
The Imaginaries will be putting on a unique Christmas event in Chickasha, OK (Shane’s hometown) called “Christmas at the Washita” to celebrate the season. The Chickasha Community Theatre (Washita Theatre) is hosting the event, which will follow the Chickasha Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2 at 7 p.m. The Chickasha Community Theatre will get all earnings from the sale of the $10 in advance and $15 at the door tickets. The Chickasha Economic Development Council presents a family-friendly event.
In the 2023 Holiday Feature Film “Grumpy Old Santa,” starring Kevin P. Farley, Glenn Morshower, and Gary Valentine, four Imaginaries holiday songs can be heard in their newfound cinematic home on Amazon Prime. Listeners can take in both originals like “Happiest of Holidays,” “First Thing on My Christmas List,” and “Christmastime Again,” as well as a cover of the traditional carol “Up On The Housetop.”
The Imaginaries’ interpretation of “Run Rudolph Run” is a welcome addition to the holiday spirit they’ve been spreading through their music, breathing new life into the song and making it the ideal background music for parties and festivities.
