The most Anticipated Single ‘Backup Plan from Allyse is finally out

975

ALLYSE. continues to build on her pop-girl prowess and R&B-inspired sounds with the release of her third single, “Backup Plan,”

This layered, beat- driven track shows of ALLYSE’s songcraft, vocal style, and signature sass. The bouyancy of “Backup Plan” almost belies the fact that this song is a warning to a fakey, unreliable lover to shape up or ship out. The song calls out someone who repeatedly leaves you hanging and guessing – a staple in a lot of modern-day situationships. While makin it clear that she’s not expecting serious commitment, ALLYSE. is asking for basic honesty and respect, not to be treated like a Backup Plan.

The song opens with syncopated synth stabs, soon complemented by a funky bassline and a chorus of lush background vocals. Thicker synths and sizzling trap beats all coalesce into the chorus’ melodic hook, as ALLYSE.’s voice grows in power and she sings,“You’re loving me like an option, M.I.A. till ya drop in …” “Backup Plan” is written by ALLYSE. and co-produced by producer & artist, waverly, whose productions in 2023 have already been featured in Apple Music’s “New in Pop,” Spotify’s “spooning,” syncs in Paramount+, and as NPR KUTX’s Song of the Day, Cageriot, Bettermusic, and GRRRLMusic.
