Untrue The One Man Band Strikes Hard with New Single “Reverse Evolution (Elect Me As Your Leader)”

314

Untrue The One Man Band (UTOMB), the brand new band with Jürg Maag from Switzerland has created a new song called “Reverse Evolution (Elect Me As Your Leader).” This is one politically charged song, with no qualms for saying anything wrong in the hegemonic political leadership of United States. His humour emphasizes the song’s message; targeting manipulation and the fact that society is heading in the wrong direction with its populist ideas.

Maag

The title of this song is Reverse Evolution meaning instead of evolving we are actually degenerating in our society. Sung with Maag’s melody and harmonic vocals, the words for the song laugh at those who select non-politicians for officials. The lyrics amplifies the angst everyone seems to have about politics especially maybe the consequent re-election of some unsavory characters.

From the musical point of view, or rather this track begins rather lightly, with almost inaudible bass and rhythmic, accelerating over time. All the instruments are performed outstandingly well and do not overwhelm with the message which is conveyed. When the song advances, more fullness is building up, yet the prime emphasis is made on the strong words and their social message.

The song, which was written with Thom Feuz, sings good tunes with a social message for good head nodding. “Reverse Evolution” is not just a song, this is a wake, a desire to begin to think, to understand the world we live in and those who govern us. The music is slick and intelligent and Untrue The One Man Band gives the listener something that is both fun and thought provoking while also getting his socially-conscious message across.
