Isla Croll’s “Please Come Back For Christmas” — A Delightful Musical and Christmas Story

599

As the holiday season approaches, Isla Croll’s latest release, “Please Come Back For Christmas,” captures the essence of the festivities by blending an upbeat melody with the heartfelt sentiment of reuniting with loved ones. This holiday single and its accompanying animated music video unfold a timeless story, making it a potential classic akin to cherished Christmas tunes like “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Darlene Love and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.

The song combines the joy of Isla’s beautiful singing with the bittersweet emotions of missing someone special during the holiday season. It has quickly become a staple in the Christmas music repertoire, thanks to its ability to resonate with listeners on a deep emotional level.

The animated visual accompanying the song adds an extra layer of emotional depth. The story revolves around a little girl who, just days after Christmas, visits a rehoming center in search of a home for a puppy named Mungo. The emotional connection is instant, and the bond formed is heartwarming. However, as fate would have it, Mungo gets frightened during a storm and runs away, leaving the girl desperately searching for him as winter sets in.

The narrative unfolds with an emotional rollercoaster, mirroring the highs and lows of the holiday season. The animated short format of the video makes it a captivating and poignant experience for viewers.

Isla Croll, reflecting on the creation of the song, expresses her excitement, saying, “I’ve really wanted to do a Christmas song, and so when I got asked to do this song, I thought this was the perfect opportunity.” Her vocals, recorded with creative control over the session, capture the true spirit of Christmas, and she takes pride in delivering a song that resonates with the holiday atmosphere.

Local resident Alex Martin of East Dulwich wrote and produced the the single.  The collaboration with Isla Croll, a talented 17-year-old singer and songwriter, brings the song to life with utmost impact. Isla, known for her impressive appearance on “The Voice Kids” in 2020, has been making waves in her solo career, and this Christmas release is a testament to her growing influence.

The music, which Andy Dragazis of Blue States mixed, perfectly complements Isla’s vocals. Big Bang Films’ animated video enhances the narrative, transforming “Please Come Back For Christmas” into a sentimental holiday story that captures the magic of the season.
