Dr. Mark Williams, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, was born into a large family and early on demonstrated a passion for surgery, even performing “operations” on bumblebees as a child. Despite facing tragedy with the loss of his father and brother, his faith in God remained steadfast, guiding him through adversity. His journey led him from Biology studies to Mortuary Science and ultimately to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Cell Biophysics. Dr. Williams became a distinguished Otolaryngologist, founding successful medical practices in Nashville, TN, while also pursuing his musical talents.
Throughout his life, Dr. Williams has been deeply involved in music, singing since childhood and reigniting his passion for it during his college years. He’s not only a talented singer but also a skilled songwriter, blending gospel with jazz/R&B influences to create a unique subgenre he calls “Smooth Praise.” His music has garnered multiple awards and nominations, earning him recognition in the gospel music industry.
In addition to his medical and musical endeavors, Dr. Williams is a devoted worship leader and educator, sharing his insights on worship mechanics and voice care with churches and choirs. His passion for both medicine and ministry is evident in his multifaceted career, where he seamlessly merges his talents in music, medicine, ministry, and marriage, impacting both the physical and spiritual well-being of those around him.
