Bank Street Martyrs unveils their latest album “Dormitory Town”, featuring 12 solid tracks

Bank Street Martyrs shares a new Album titled “Dormitory Town” and this album contains 12 solid songs. The album is indeed a lyrical masterpiece and it is based on their hometown in the Vale of Leven, north of Glasgow. The first song, “Bandstands of your Soul,” introduces the album with a captivating background scene, which deals with local issues with a universal appeal.

Ian Morris Retson crafted the songs and they are a mixture of funny and deep, making the everyday life into the perfect works of art that are structured in such a way.

Tracks such as “I Love You Molly Mandy” remind of the local culture, on the contrary, the singles like “Tin of Words” and “Skin in the Game” take us to the romantic 80’s Scottish pop acts. After a closer look, “Tin of Words” discloses a protest message against the closing of the local libraries.

“Dormitory Town” is the expression of the frustration regarding the post-industrial decline, whereas, the songs “All The Way To Drumkinnon Bay” are the eulogies of the band’s surroundings. The album’s themes are indeed overcome by the fact that the band admits the beauty of their location.

This album demonstrates the growth of the Bank Street Martyrs, who adds a wider musical palette compared to their first album. “Dormitory Town” is a fantastic album, which makes one to spend some time listening to it and discovering its various layers. Knowing and getting the sound of a professional vocalist together with the creative musical arrangements, it shows that one can say that songwriting is still real.

The album’s combination of blues, soft rock, and power pop puts its themes of small-town life in the best frame and gives them their poignancy and authenticity. In general, “Dormitory Town” is a proof of the band’s capability and imagination, it is a fact that the Bank Street Martyrs are going to be successful.
