Sehruhtonin, who is actually known s Sarah Valerie has released her Debut Album called “Heart Whispers” and is full of cinematic sets brought fully to life. She produced everything in her home studio; she has put together a set of 12 beautifull and touching melodies that have already attracted the interest of BBC Introducing, European radio, and listeners from 102 countries across the world.
The album begins with “Mosaic”, which starts with harmonic elements and is smoothly progressing into a rather complex and beautiful piece that represents the style of Sehruhtonin perfectly. This is succeeded by “Heavy Halo,” which is equally introspective and also has an emotional bend to it, thus creating a rather melancholic and pensive mood for the next tracks.
“Breeze” the third track, is perhaps one of the most endearing songs from the album. The lyrics suggest the beauty of a late summer evening and the beauty of a warm togetherness that the singer and subject seem to want to linger.
The ethereal “Evergreen” is a love letter written to a woman whose heart has suffered much pain. Instead, the lyrics urge her to bloom and be showered with love for all of her days, using “evergreen” as the embodiment of hope.
“In Between” begins with the unique drumming and showcases Sehruhtonin’s vocals. The song is about the internal conflicts of hyperactive thinking and coming to peace. It expresses the challenging journey of learning how to find comfort in moments of uncertainty and become friends with yourself
“Permanent” is about fear, power and helplessness, and the theme of change. Thus, the subject of the song is the loss of one’s groundedness and the challenge of coping with things in life. To learn that change is a positive thing and embrace the new developments that come with it is the heart of the song.
The final track of the album is “You’ll Be Safe Here,” which is a soothing music with lyrics that are full of encouragement and promises the individual that s/he will be safe. The subject matter focuses on the need of people to be with one another and be there for each other during the bad days: they affirm the power of the sunshine after the rain and the genuine feelings, and the willingness to expose a painful weakness.
All the songs in “Heart Whispers” are very well produced, with soft and tender vocals by Sehruhtonin and complex instrumentals that engulfs the listener. The title of the album is befitting – whispery in some aspects of the voice and lightweight in the overall feel of the songs.
