9’Oclock Nasty Shares A New “Hot Disco Shit”

171

Check out this sexed up funky disco anthem “Hot Disco Shit” from the band 9 O’CLOCK NASTY.

Finally, 9 O’Clock Nasty dares going disco in their recent single, “Hot Disco Shit” while still maintaining their humor as usual. This one is a new direction for them straight into the mirrorball and Motown emotion yet it sparks nothing more than a gentle reaction on the band.

“Hot Disco Shit” is indeed a brilliant mix of the loads of various musical styles, primarily of the note of the rock alt genres and the direction of pop-Hot, but also containing the shades of darkness to underlining of the individuality of their sound. The first verse is built over a melodic guitar line and a fine drum beat, then a snarl takes charge and through lyrics exposes a dance floor prejudice. Some related in a light-hearted manner about spending time at the gates of the heavens, fun that has been stopped by the doorman’s scolding and shoes as the subject of concern. The seeming juxtaposition of sex and death is intriguing as it provides depth to the song and, therefore, lust-worth paying attention to.

This track’s not sentimental towards old disco but gives a taste just how filthy disco could be if it had been produced at 9 O’Clock Nasty. As expected, the band unbalances itself by moving forward into a futuristic dimension backed up by recording techniques of a more classic era. With length, repetition, and a build of anthemic energy, “Hot Disco Shit” demonstrates the band’s ability to produce music that is unapologetically retro yet unorthodox.

Indeed in “Hot Disco Shit,” 9 O’Clock Nasty does it again – Capture the essence of disco and make it their own, provide entertainment in a form of a song complete with laughter and a penchant for eccentricity.
