The Second Shooter Band Shares A New Metallic Album Called “Fury Made Flesh”

104

The Second Shooter Band has recently released their new album titled “Fury Made Flesh” a 10-track forceful record where all the musicians are involved, both in composing the music and writing the lyrics. All the tracks were recorded in the band’s facility, Jim was responsible for the engineering during the tracking of the songs while Jeff was the engineer responsible for the mixing and mastering of the album.

The concept behind the album name, “Fury Made Flesh”, derives from another of the songs in the album, “Bringer of Death”, which is about the Hindu goddess, Kali. Her raw imagery was also used in cover art by illustrator David Paul Seymour. The songs of the album explore various themes topical and personal; songs like, “Diana the Huntress” “Protect and Serve” “Caged”,  “Gold Plated Pervert” ‘For All the Parasites” among others present social themes. Meanwhile, “Bleeding Ear” “Set Adrift” and “Suffocate Eternal” talk about the individual’s suffering, while “Palm Reader” and “Bringer of Death” convey supernatural motifs.

In terms of music style, the album is a synthesis of groove metal, hardcore, death metal, thrash metal, progressive metal and a hint of doom. This is evident with many of the songs constructed around an exciting groove which they release into a more intense climax.

The album begins with “Protect and Serve” a socially conscious track that seeks to chide the government for bad leadership by pointing to the fallacy of their oath to protect and serve as authority figures. It is a fast-paced song with heavy guitar, vocal and drum which gives a proper initiation to the album. Another song from this album, the second one to be exact, is “Diana the Huntress” and it is also quite critical and intense. The track “Suffocate Eternal” explores more of personal hardships – on solutions and the darkness of healing as it is.

The atmospheric aggression of “Fury Made Flesh” is consistent from track to track, as each song features similar tempos, vocals, and instrumentation, giving the album a strong sense of musical unity.
