RØSES Unveils Her Most Personal Single Yet with “Larvae”

277

Introducing a new queer singer-songwriter artist RØSES from the San Francisco Bay Area and her newest song, “Larvae” an entirely honest and deeply heavy track about a difficult childhood under the care of known abusive parents. In what is perhaps her most aggressive anthem, RØSES dives into one of society’s most sensitive and painful facets, that is, the use of parents (or caregivers) to dominate and ultimately turn a bright, tenacious individual into a defeated spirit.

“Larvae” sounds well thanks to its drifting, soaring vocal line, synth arrangement, combined with choral harmonies and breathy accents

The words sung are real and painful. RØSES lays bare the heartbreak of being shaped by those who were supposed to nurture and protect, where she uses the image of “larvae” as a metaphor for the fragility of a young life crushed by the burden of abusive love.

The tune and lyrics of the song give a feeling about the effect of these evil experiences which leaves behind a big impact on an individual. ‘Larvae’ targets anyone who has ever struggled with the pressures from outside to conform to some kind of role they do not wish to play and live with the emotional pain of having to do it.

Sustainably, “Larvae” is definitely presented as a kind of dark pop which means that it contains theatrical drama and mysterious atmosphere in it. Each of the melodies and the harmonic background in the music is warm and inviting, while the piano accompaniment has some sound’ rather eerie, the beats added a dimension of color to the song. RØSES’ voice soars and harmonizes effortlessly in the ad libs providing soulful feel to each word sung. The track’s strength and the beauty of the song makes it a great and a memorable release.
