The Old Guitarist releases first Album in 20 years Bach and Bourbon

416

Bach and Bourbon captures the breadth and range of this artist’s interests. From Bach to Ralph Towner from Mozart to Turlough O’Carolan and a healthy number of compositions of his own, this album represents what a concert of The Old Guitarist might include.

Recorded over a period of two years, this displays a musician still at the top of his game. Bach’s Eb organ trio sonata is arranged for flute violin and guitar, the same arrangement of instruments was used by Fernando Carulli, in his arrangement of the Mozart Bb piano Sonata k. 561.

The release is rounded out by two compositions of the renowned American guitarist/composer Ralph Towner, and five original composition, which include a solo guitar composition and three works for chamber groups with percussion.
