Mama Radical’s most recent released song “Blue Moon in Pisces” is a combination of Pop Rock, Soul, Funk music which is a tribute to the astrological phenomenon. It has endearing sentiments of the heart the song urges its listeners to unlock their inner strength within them.
This is because the process of creating the track was very hands on and not something twisted from its natural process of creation. As for the music, Mama Radical was recorded originally with live guitar and drums, which adds its the core energy. Interestingly enough, great contribution to the rhythm section was provided by Tero Sundell – the drummer of Tehosekoitin. For other parts, bass, trombone, saxophone and organ were introduced, with another guitar line added and the result was more lively and funky.
This song has rather moderate guitar and drum accompaniment at the start of the song joined quickly by Mama Radical’s passionate vocals. The trombone and the saxophone then came in and gave the track density plus some solidity. The rhythm is deliberate; there are pauses and build-ups, and it’s as though the song is punching itself in; it never loses concentration.
All artists add different passion to the piece. Mikko Elonen plays both guitar and did the mixing, and both bass and organs from Samu Kajova bring the soul into the music. Tomi Kosonen rising funk thrilling saxophone solo accompanied Leevi Lydecken’s dancing trombone. Ville Alajauuma’s mastering makes sure everything blends well, and individual aspects can be easily identified.
“Blue Moon in Pisces” has a quality in switching from one genre to another and of giving hope. Inspired by sweet and groovy music, Mama Radical as a musician who helps people with her music. This track is all about life, emotions and strength.
