Indie mexicana Horizonte Lied present their most recent release “El Día Después (Radio Edit)”. This track is full electronic rhythms but at the same time it is full with profound message, making listennig to it rather immersive. The stunning electronic influences of such bands as Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails are transferred to the work in the song The tracks constructed from various synth layers and smooth rhythmical-based attracts immediately.
Interestingly, the track starts with those sounds that seem to grab you immediately. It also important to note that as the tune reaches on its middle the beats are purposely drawn in deeper into the music. When technology influenced mechanical sounds are blended with rhythms of the comparatively more conventional percussion, the result is a rich concoction. The vocals are also impressive; they sound rather like chanting, which, in turn, gives a song a deeper emotional tinge. Altogether these compose a strong setting which grabs the attention.
It recreates a day after an experience- through the light of self-deception, concealing a whole world of enigmas, and the drama of forgiveness. It is a track which challenges the listener to start a war inside his or her head. This version is a reimagination of the song from 2008 with new lyrics and guitar by Rodrigo Garza who is a friend of the band. The production masterminded by Alex Ezert strikes best by its analog synths backed by thick guitars and powerful basses composing a rather complex bassline but with deep fluidity.
This release belongs to Horizonte Lied’s”Final Remasters” where the band re-record mixed and remastered their older songs in order to demonstrate their progress and individuality. There’s harmony in this song that makes ‘El Día Después’ a wonderful blend of electronic and indie as a genre that will remain notorious for days after next.
