Blindman is back with the world video premiere for “They Tried To Bury Us.” The roots-infused track, released on Rebel Sound Records, centers on societal injustices of recent times.
Co-written with The Community/The Happy Community, Mick O’Riverá, the video features
members of Blindman & The Dopifyerz – Sean Patton, Chad Kesser, and Kev Chiz. Blindman is among a new generation of artists forging a path forward – asking for not just recognition, but an end to the oppression. The artist brings this message to the forefront in the new video for “They Tried To Bury Us” — filmed around New York by Jeff Pliskin of Raised Fist Propaganda, the go-to video producer for Slightly Stoopid, Fortunate Youth, Badfish, Run DMC and just about everyone you can think of.
The video, cutting between the singer performing with his Dopifyerz bandmates, features Blindman walking through one of the 9/11 memorial sites — visually emphasizing the highly emotional message. The song is an exploration of the world and times we live in, commenting on terrorism, hate, and greed.
Trying to make sense of madness and tragedy can be trying. Togetherness is required. Blindman writes all of his songs with one clear message “see with your heart” “They Tried To Bury Us” carries that same message of hope, unity and struggle with Bindman leading the charge forward in resistance.
