TiLT 360’s “It Grows” EP Review

50

The newest EP from TiLT 360 entitled It Grows offers sincere songs containing personal anecdotes from band members. It Grows opens the EP as a hard rock anthem about the difficulties Billy Smaltz faced in dealing with his drug addiction. The song presents a stripped-down musical range which combines heartfelt lyrics with intense heavy guitar riffs.

The song Innocence expresses feelings about childhood simplicity through its soft sound while exploring a memory that inspired Billy about a Black child linking hands with a white girl at their wedding. The song shows how children view the world free from hatred before the world’s hatred corrupts their innocent outlook.

The Ride Down accelerates the tempo to revisit the addiction struggles of Billy Smaltz. The song builds a strong and powerful energy through its heavy guitars that keep pushing forward during the chorus while changing rhythms to convey the experience of being hurt. Through both emotional turmoil and inner fortitude the tune expresses itself.

The EP finishes with Drown which bassist Drew Salzano wrote when dealing with a painful breakup. Sadness and heartache dominate this song yet the musical foundations stay strong giving the song its driving power. The last emotional track on the EP brings both truth and feeling as it concludes the collection.

Throughout the recording process at Youngstown studio and Harrisburg studio members of TiLT 360 demonstrated their band development. The music delivers loud powerful rhythms that carry strong spiritual messages within them. Sound represents a minor fraction of this EP’s actual substance as it delves into human life and struggles toward healing. The music group TiLT 360 has returned in excellent condition.
