“Bloom” by Edward Cross – A Gentle Journey from Darkness to Light

113

“Bloom” by Edward Cross is a peaceful and personal instrumental piece that grows slowly, just like its name suggests. It started as a simple, improvised piano recording played over a soft looping synth. Instead of changing much, Edward kept the original feeling and added just a few more instruments—clarinet, trombone, and more piano—all recorded with what he had nearby.

With his background in jazz clarinet, you can hear soft touches of jazz throughout the track. The music feels warm and natural, almost like it’s telling a quiet story. As it plays, it builds gently, reminding you of springtime, fresh starts, and the feeling of stepping into the light after a long winter.

“Bloom” is a beautiful example of how something simple and honest can turn into something deeply moving.
