Tasos P. & ChristosK present “Ayae” — An Electronic Ritual Rooted in Afro Rhythms

12

Electronic composer and producer Tasos P. unveils his latest 2025 release, joining forces with remixer and lyricist Christos Koutroufinis (ChristosK) in a dynamic collaboration that spans composition and production. The track’s mixing and mastering were handled by Giorgos Lazarou, further elevating its sonic depth.

Released on May 19 via FM Records, “Ayae” emerges from a desire to bridge tradition and rhythm — to forge a sound that feels both timeless and forward-looking. Drawing inspiration from the pulse of Afrohouse and the hypnotic textures of African vocal layers, the piece stands as a tribute to movement, ritual, and emotional liberation.

The title “Ayae” is derived from an imagined mantra, a wordless, spiritual utterance of unity. During late-night studio sessions, the two artists envisioned a ceremonial tribe gathered around a fire under moonlight, where each drumbeat echoed through generations.

With earthy percussion, atmospheric synths, and a captivating groove, “Ayae” invites listeners to surrender, not just to the music, but to the present moment. It’s an immersive sonic journey where time dissolves and only rhythm remains.

The track highlights the refined craftsmanship of two creators with a unique ability to craft music with global resonance. Notably, “Ayae” premiered on BBC Music Introducing on May 8, making an impactful debut at #17 on the UK Dance Chart.

The sound of “Ayae” resists explanation — it’s meant to be felt.
