Jerard & Jovaun are Louisiana natives. Jerard is from Shreveport. Jovaun is from New Orleans. They met as children singing at churches. Each of them sang with their family groups. They married in 1999 and moved to Nashville, TN where they became session/live singers for popular artists from multiple genres. Jerard is still traveling with Cece Winans with tours and her Grammy award winning album, “Believe For It” in which they both provided vocals on. They can be seen online every Sunday leading worship at Bethesda Church in Fort Worth, Texas. They can also be seen leading worship at Beth Moore’s ‘Living Proof Live’ conferences.

Although Jerard & Jovaun became well-known together through performances they uploaded to YouTube, they’ve done background vocals for dozens of live and studio sessions for CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Natalie Grant, Bebe Winans, Andrae Crouch, Kim Burrell, Michael McDonald, Wynona Judd, Jonny Lang, among many others. Additionally, Jerard has released an album of his own, I Waited (2007), and Jovaun has traveled extensively leading worship with Women of Faith, Beth Moore, David Jeremiah, Don Moen, Brooklyn Tabernacle, and others. The couple currently serves as worship leaders at Bethesda Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Alot of their Sunday morning performances are currently circulating on social media and getting great reviews.

In 2019, their hit single, “Potter’s House” (originally by Tramaine & Walter Hawkins) was a smash hit and is still making waves across radio stations around the world.  During a global pandemic in 2020, Jerard & Jovaun virtually gathered (singers and musicians) a bunch of their close peers in the music industry and performed a jazzy arrangement of the popular hymn “Lift Him Up!” It is still a social media favorite.  Also in 2020, Jerard & Jovaun released a self titled EP, Jerard & Jovaun. The EP features New Orleans Medley, I Am Free, and Every Tear. In 2021, they were the first to record and release an acapella arrangement of the beloved Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah in a 6/4 time signature. They featured their son Justin Woods singing bass.

Now they’re back with their first LP, “No Troubled Hearts! It was released February 17, 2023. The hit single, also titled, “No Troubled Hearts” was released early October 2022. “No Troubled Hearts” sheds light on the promise that Jesus made. Although He went away, it was necessary for Him to prepare a place for us according to St. John chapter 14. There’s room for all of us! There’s even room for those who haven’t heard or don’t yet believe. But we’re bringing this news so you can trust and believe! The only thing you can’t take to this place is a troubled heart!

The powerful worship tune titled “Look,” also released in October, gives a vivid perspective of what must happen when we’re in the Lord’s presence. Simply put, “Let all rise, do it now, for He is here!“ And because there’s a large Spanish speaking community at our local church, we released another version of “Look” in Spanish titled, “¡Mira!”
