John Gallen is not your typical musician. As well as being a multi-instrumentalist, composer and lyricist, he is also internationally recognised as a leading lawyer and has been involved in an endless stream of exciting projects around the world. He was recording his own music in
studio at age 15 but made a decision aged 17 to do something else with his time. After a long hiatus from music he returned to it because that has always been his real calling in life.
John is also not your typical lawyer. He has involved himself in a range of charitable and
humanitarian projects, and the recognition of that work came when the four warring
governments of Libya came together (they momentarily came together) to appoint John as their Attorney before the United Nations and the European Union. John has now been pushing the UN for five years at no cost to obtain funds for medical equipment in Libya from the sanctioned funds of that country.
ENEMY is John’s recounting of a dinner meeting he had with a number of Libyan
representatives. In the course of the meeting, it became clear that one of the participants was a major Warlord and should not have been there. This made for a deeply uncomfortable get-together and a speedy exit. The lyrics of ENEMY recount John’s experience of that meeting.
