The new single ‘Digital Boy’ by songwriter/producer Lividus has been released worldwide. Both catchy and heartbreaking, it tells the story of the ominous effects of technology addiction on
young people, and the possible dire consequences this can have. Made up of punk rock and alternative rock roots, the song is a testament to the realities of the current digital environment and the astounding rate of mental health issues in our youth.
Lividus (aka Matt Beesley) had this to say about the track: “I wrote ‘Digital Boy’ when I lost someone close to me. Technology can be a powerful tool, but it can also cause great pain. I have seen it become too easy for kids to lose touch with the real world.
Especially those who are already hurting. It’s a story that I felt needed to be shared” The Lividus project is the brainchild of songwriter/producer Matt Beesley who saw the Covid Lockdown as an opportunity to collaborate with talent from around the world to write, record and produce the best possible music. Creating a Virtual Studio environment utilising tools such as Airgigs, Soundcloud and Bandcamp has allowed Matt to identify and collaborate with talent from anywhere. Inspired by bands such as Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin, Lividus music has old school foundations but with the modern production values of bands like Tool, King Buffalo and Green Day.
Lividus music spans across multiple genres, including Alternative Rock and Punk Rock but have future plans to reach into more nuanced genres, such as Heavy Psych and Modern Prog Rock.
