“This is one of the most vulnerable pieces I’ve ever recorded,” says Freeman. “It took more out of me than I expected. The moment I stepped behind the mic, feelings I thought had long healed came rushing back. Grief, heartbreak, the weight of things unsaid — it all surfaced.”
