843

Fresh off the release of their previous single “Morning Mantra,” Gentleman Brawlers, a production duo hailing from Brooklyn, continue to make waves with their latest pop-funk track titled “Show Me Love.” The song takes a playful approach to the theme of sexual reawakening, reminiscent of the bold and empowering style found in Janelle Monae’s album “Dirty Computer.” Adding to the infectiousness of the track is the production work of Anderson .Pakk, who contributes his unique touch to the overall sound.

Known for their electrifying live performances, Gentleman Brawlers have earned a solid reputation as a collective. The creative minds behind this musical endeavor are Becca Fox and Matt Walsh. Their synergy on stage has garnered praise from veteran BBC journalist Tom Robinson, who describes the band as a “virtuoso live band, grooving together like a beautifully engineered machine.” The group is set to release a series of singles through Six Degrees Music Distribution, providing fans with a glimpse into their upcoming debut album titled “Truth and Magic.” The album is scheduled to be released on October 23rd under the band’s own Brooklyn Fields imprint.

Gentleman Brawlers’ music encompasses a crisp indie dance sound that takes on two distinct forms: their live performances and their studio recordings. These two incarnations mutually influence and elevate each other. When performing live, the band infuses their music with disco-based horn lines, catchy highlife guitar melodies, and polyrhythms inspired by the musical traditions of West Africa, Trinidad, and Brazil. This combination ignites a community-driven and improvisational energy that creates an unforgettable experience for the audience. In the studio, Gentleman Brawlers often explore electronic dance music (EDM) elements, reimagining their songs through this lens. Regardless of the setting, whether it be a lively dance floor or a digital playlist, Gentleman Brawlers consistently deliver an electrifying and celebratory musical experience for their listeners.
