Andersen’s Missing Bell Unveils Emotionally Charged Track “Something” from EP “Maybe It’s Just a Phase”

There is good news for the fans of the alternative rock as Quebec City’s Andersen’s Missing Bell is out with the new single “Something” from their EP  “Maybe It’s Just a Phase”.

“Something” starts with enchanting drum rolls and elaborate strings that creates the perfect emotional accompaniment to Michaud’s enthralling vocal line. Michaud stands out radically singing throughout the track with much versatility in changing his voice timbre and delivery. His ability to control the tone and his ability to hit the emotional notes perfectly goes a long way into showing off his talent and placing a soulful touch on the song.

The chorus features some pitch harmonies which  adds to the rawness of the song and the verse reiterates the themes of the song delivering a message of candidness. The instrumentation is tight, carefully assembled to merge with Michaud’s voice in a powerhouse yet sensitive fashion—a sound that has become the hallmark of Andersen’s Missing Bell.

Looking at the lyrics, it can be seen that “Something” tells the Story of human anxiety and the feeling of being inferior. Still, there’s some kind of liberation here, some kind of openness, which makes people unmask and look and accept their own demons.

Andersen’s Missing Bell is made up of Kevin Michaud, Ariane Boies, Jean-Sébastien Boies, Mathieu Boies, André Godbout and Réjean Lacroix and their music is inspired by bands such as Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, The Hotelier, and Manchester Orchestra. Their music can be described as perfectly combining explosive energy and fragility, and adding to it highly sincere and existential and social lyrics.

Independent in almost every aspect of their production, mixing, and promotion, the band is the epitome of the DIY ethic while at the same time promoting the professional side.

They have previously graced stages across Quebec City and Montreal’s underground scenes and with their 2020 debut album, “Old and Bored”, under their belt, Andersen’s Missing Bell is poised to usher in a new era with “Maybe It’s Just a Phase”.
