Coor Brow-Obles, singer/songwriter from South-Eastern is back with his new track “Every Night“ and surprisingly it’s shoegaze and dreampop inspired. The song was composed and written by him as an anniversary present for his partner Estelle Mey who is a musician as well, and it displays the peaceful mindset that comes when one’s loved one is asleep in the same bed.
Being both dreampop and indiepop track “Every Night” gives the impression of night-time quite fearsomeness, creating the overall feeling of turned off lights, safe and romantic, yet sometimes terrified by thoughts, once again interrupted. Coor was personally involved in the creation of the entire song, playing all the instruments, although the drums was played by the drummer of his partner Estelle’s band. This track is one of his first attempts to produce shoegaze music, adding a new layer of passion to his work.
The drums enter first with a gently pulsating rhythm and a timid melody is played on the chords while strings come in to embellish the feeling of the tune. Coor sings in a calm and deep timbre and conveys the lyrics in a genuine emotional manner while backing it with various layers of instruments. The guitars definitely bring a feeling of internal struggle which is seen in the combination of calmness and worry.
“Every Night” is a love song for those who are in love; when this song is played, everything seems to be perfect and beautiful and which makes it fits in romantic moments. The laid back, sleepy tone of the song combined with the clear voice of Coor lets the track stay in your head and be quite memorable.
