With her velvet vocals and poetic warmth, Berlin-based R&B artist Dalee is set to release her latest single, “In the Woods,” on July 11—a sonic daydream born from stillness, longing, and a desire to reconnect with what’s real.
Written during the quiet intensity of the pandemic, In the Woods is a gentle rebellion against overwhelm.
“I wrote this song during lockdown—when the world outside paused, but inside me, everything was moving,”Dalee shares. “It’s a wish for lightness, for connection. A desire to step out of the city, out of the mind, and into something natural and real.”
Musically, the track is rooted in rich, soulful R&B with modern textures. Produced by Odyle and Joscha Baltes, it draws influence from artists like Alex Isley, Beyoncé, and Victoria Monét—blending tenderness, groove, and emotional clarity.
The lyrics invite listeners into intimacy and stillness: “Come on let’s take a walk in the woods / The less we care, the happier we’ll be.” Visually, In the Woods is accompanied by an otherworldly visualiser, created in collaboration with Berlin-based production house YALLA SHE SAID. The imagery captures Dalee lying in a surreal bed of flowers and moss—wrapped in a sculptural piece by Berlin designer Diego Martinez—appearing as a beautiful alien in a tranquil
dreamscape.
The result is a full-body experience: part acoustic picnic, part inner world, and wholly Dalee.
