Brendan McNamara’s project, Extra Time, is proud to announce the release of their new single, “The Girl Who Rules The Sea,” accompanied by a stunning video clip filmed at the iconic Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. This track is part of Extra Time’s current double gatefold vinyl release, which has been receiving glowing reviews internationally.

“The Girl Who Rules The Sea” is a deeply personal and evocative song, recounting McNamara’s near-drowning experience at Bondi Beach when he was just six years old. Coming from an Irish immigrant family, McNamara’s enthusiasm for the ocean far outstripped his swimming skills. Fortuitously, he was rescued by an Amazonian surfer girl who not only saved his life but also expanded his vocabulary with a variety of new obscenities.

This single serves as a love letter to Bondi Beach, capturing the nostalgia and affection McNamara holds for his birthplace, one of Australia’s most beloved beaches. The song’s poignant lyrics and captivating melody transport listeners to the sun-soaked shores of Bondi, celebrating its beauty and significance in McNamara’s life.
