Emerging WA singer/songwriter/producer Gianni Capri begins a new era of his musical career with the announcement of a new single, Unpredictable, and his debut live show to launch the release.
A cruisy pop track with an irresistibly danceable beat, Unpredictable ponders on the wild ride that relationships can so often be.
‘Say you love me, then you walk away
Say you hate me, then you want to stay’.
“The song’s just a fun way to put across quite a strong and emotional roller coaster when you’re when you’re talking about the ups and downs of a relationship,” Gianni explains, “because it’s still presented in a way that’s positive and happy and takes the mickey out of it a bit, which I really like.
“I think it’s one of my melodically stronger songs. There’s a lot of catchy little hooks that come in and out throughout it. And I’m all about that, I love creating catchy, simple songs.”
Unpredictable is accompanied by an equally fun music video, directed by Joel Baker of Perth production agency, Better Bread. As a suit-and tied Gianni contemplates love and all its bruises, it’s a tough day at the office for all involved, as the boss (played by Charlize Dior Rebelo) puts all the workers in their place.
“I hadn’t worked with Joel before, and he pitched the idea of a workplace where you’re rocking up to a 9-5 and you’ve got this boss that’s a little bit nasty,” Gianni says. “I’d never done something that was really story-driven like that before, so I was a little bit hesitant, but I put my faith in him, and I’m so glad I did.
