‘Have you forgot?’ Hus Questions In new Song

1.5k

HUS’s music covers a variety of themes, ranging from the thrill and excitement of living the fast life in his hit song “Dangerous”, an infectiously catchy & bouncy dancehall anthem. But his newest single takes a twisted turn, as he also addresses the darker aspects brought upon by this lifestyle, such as regret, betrayal, and lost love in the 80s synth-pop inspired “HAVE U FORGOT?”.

Using metaphors and imagery to convey the sense of hedonism that can come with living such a fast-paced and unforgiving lifestyle. The hard hitting synths and melodic progression of the beat is uniquely predominant & sets up a dark, melancholic ambience as if it was telling it’s own story.
You can hear the sorrow in his voice when he sings, “Without me you’re lost, staring at walls hoping I’d come back but you know it’s gone”. As HUS weighs upon his past regrets and the lingering feelings of guilt that can come with them, he also touches on the idea of redemption and the possibility of making amends for past actions.

Regardless of the highs & lows, HUS never fails to showcase his unique vocal finesse while breaking down complex emotional dilemmas with blissful melodies. The deep-cutting and candid lyrics of “HAVE U FORGOT?” stand out, as they are introspective and deal with complex relationship issues, making his music relatable and thought-provoking.
