Anton Commissaris is a music composer, pianist, and vocalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Anton loves all music but has a special place in his heart for Jazz, which he acquired from an early age. His new song ‘Mission of love’ is not doubt.

Mission of Love is a retro-style jazz song about a brave soul determined to save a fair lady from danger and win her love. Initially, the lady is unimpressed and doubts that this man is worthy of being her hero. However, she is slowly but surely won over by his mental agility and unfettered determination to succeed no matter what. He simply won’t give up until he’s won.

The song features a stride piano introduction harkening back to the days of Fats Waller and Jelly Roll Morton and trading drum and piano solos that are topped off by harmonious horn arrangements. Towards the end of the song, a spontaneous turn is taken with the introduction of a ‘shout chorus’ containing a distinctive key change maintained through the end. The shout chorus also features horns (trombone, tenor sax, & trumpet) playing in pyramids. Soaring Sinatra-style jazz vocals flow over the music, with lyrics reflecting the courage and determination required to demonstrate true love.

Anton’s inspiration comes from some of Jazz music’s greatest composers: Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, and Antonio Carlos-Jobim. Lennon-McCartney’s music first inspired Anton to try his hand at music composition. Anton’s male vocal influences are Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Donny Hathaway. His greatest admiration for female vocalists goes out to Sarah Vaughan, Etta James, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. Anton released his debut EP – ‘On A Bright Note’ – in early 2020. In late 2021, Anton released his debut single ‘Lonely Bay’ and his sophomore EP – ‘Out of the Blue.’

Anton’s first release of 2022 is the new EP – ‘Awakening Sounds’ where Anton stretches his Jazz foundations with notes of Soul, R&B, and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
