Indie Songwriter Stephen E. Johnson Explores Christ’s Journey to the Cross in His Single ‘Walk the Path’

235

Stephen E. Johnson’s new track, “Walk the Path,” takes us on a journey with Christ as he walks his path to Gethsemane. The song follows the traditional 13 stations of Christ in a manner that
allows the listener to become emotionally entangled with Christ before he suffers on the Christ.

Johnson ends the song prior to His resurrection making this song an excellent choice Good Friday celebrations. While the song is great for the Easter season, the history lessons embedded in the lyrics make it a great song for almost any time of the year.

Steve carefully constructed the song in various
church modes, giving the tune appropriate somber and bright lyrical flavors, where appropriate. Constructed with a memorable tune, “Walk the Path” captures familiar moments along Jesus’s journey such as interactions with Holy Women and being speared in the side by Roman soldiers.
