Named after the street where they all worship together, the Normandies, a Christian country and rock band, are the passion project of Sam Wood (lead vocals/guitar), Kathy Justin (backup vocals/bass), and Andrew Montgomery (drums). With only a guitar, bass, and drums, the band
makes big music with a big message, “Find Jesus. He’ll change your life.”
Wood, who is not only a pastor’s son but was the tour manager for a now-retired Atlantic Records recording artist, draws on his experience to write songs about the changing power of Jesus Christ and a legacy of Faith. “Our goal with this music is to glorify God, spread the gospel, and encourage and entertain Christians,” Wood shares.
“God Loves Guitars,” the third single oR the Normandies’ third EP, titled A Link in the Chain, is set to release Tuesday, June 18, 2024. “God Loves Guitars” is a story song about the reconciliation of a broken relationship of a mother and son through their love of music and God speaking to them through it. The song, which has a country-rock vibe in the style of Zach Williams and Cory Asbury, has a John Mellencamp-type break that will get your hands clapping and feet tapping. Wood explains, “Music has played a huge role in my life and the Lord has used it to help me overcome addiction much like the subject in this song.”
