Indy Christian Country Band, the Normandies, take us on a journey through three generations of ministry with “Chain

82

Named after the street where they all worship together, the Normandies, a Christian country and rock band, are the passion project of Sam Wood (lead vocals/guitar), Kathy Justin (backup vocals/bass), and 2 Andrew Montgomery (drums). With only a guitar, bass, and drums, the band
makes big music with a big message, “Find Jesus. He’ll change your life.”

Wood, who is not only a pastor’s son but was the tour manager for a nowretired Atlantic Records recording artist, draws on his experience to write songs about the changing power of Jesus Christ and a legacy of Faith. “Our goal with this music is to glorify God, spread the gospel, and encourage and entertain Christians,” Wood shares.

“Chain,” the second single of the Normandies’ third EP, titled A Link in the Chain. The song, which has a midwestern Americana vibe with influences of Steve Earle and John Mellencamp, was inspired by Wood’s father’s, grandfather’s, and now his own journey into ministry. Wood explains, “When we look at our lives, we need to recognize that it’s not all about us, but also about the people who came before us and will come after us. We are just a link in the chain.”
