Judith Ann  Roberston:  A Bilingual Mezzo- Soprano Shares Her Passion In The Evocative Song “Quiet Waters”

632

Judith Ann Robertson is from an English/Scottish background and became a French citizen after years of living, working, and songwriting in France, where she is now resident. It was in France that her passion for life and faith led her to write contemporary worship and other songs in French, with the unusual twist of mixing contemporary and folk instruments and inspirations.

“Quiet Waters” (“Rester dans ta presence” in French), from the album “Father’s House”, is
perhaps the most personal of her songs, with a powerful invitation to listeners to join her in the experience. The album Father’s House was born of her desire to share this passion with her British compatriots via a translation of her first French album “Rebâtir ta maison” and she was joined for this project by guitarist Paul May, who did a fabulous job on the production, although for this album his guitars are not a feature. They can be heard in her “Collection” album, for which he arranged several of her French songs.
