Kima releases “A Northern Christmas Saga (Susanne in the Tobacco Shop)”

6

Kima is not an artist by definition, but a creator from Sweden. She releases her Christmas single “A Northern Christmas Saga (Susanne in the Tobacco Shop)” — a song where Nordic acoustic tones meet a floating reggae sway, creating warm, feel-good holiday vibes.

It is a Christmas song that gently grooves, never rushing, inviting the listener to move without hurry. The interior of her old house is anything but ordinary. Among other things, she has painted skies in several of the ceilings. Creation is a constant part of daily life.

The song was originally written in Kima’s artist atelier as a more classical Christmas melody. While arranging it on an old keyboard —rescued from a recycling room by her son — the rhythm section suddenly started and could not be turned off. Instead of fighting it, she began to sing along. A mistake gave the song its lift, its movement, its heartbeat.

“Me and the Neanderthals are roughly on the same technical level,” Kima says with a laugh. “But sometimes not knowing how things work is exactly what allows magic to happen.”

The song was recorded at home in her husband’s studio. He is a professional guitarist and handled the recording and production. Until now, Kima had never dared to sing or share her music publicly.

“This is a song for everyone still carrying a dream they haven’t dared to follow yet. If I can — and if I dare — then so can you. Only the sky is the limit – your own saga waiting to be told.”
