After five albums in five years, L.A.B returns with their highly anticipated sixth album, aptly titled L.A.B VI. This latest offering marks a significant milestone for the band, showcasing their evolution and maturity as artists over an intensive two-year period of writing, recording, and refining.

Recorded at Wellington’s Surgery Studios with frequent collaborator Lee Prebble, L.A.B VI is the culmination of countless hours spent honing their craft amidst a relentless touring schedule. From sold-out shows across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, UK, and Europe, to extended studio sessions, the band poured their energy and passion into creating their strongest album to date.

Whittled down from a pool of nearly 30 tracks, the 11 songs featured on L.A.B VI offer a dynamic and immersive listening experience. Drawing from their diverse musical influences, the album seamlessly blends reggae/roots, soul, funk, and rock elements, showcasing the band’s versatility and creativity.

Highlighted by singles such as ‘Take It Away,’ ‘Casanova,’ ‘Oh No (Pt. 2),’ and the newly-released ‘Ocean Demon,’ L.A.B VI encapsulates the full spectrum of the band’s sound. Each track serves as a testament to their growth as musicians and songwriters, offering listeners a glimpse into the depth and richness of their musical universe.

As L.A.B prepares to unleash their latest masterpiece upon the world, they also gear up for a series of special festival performances, including Electric Avenue in Christchurch, Homegrown in Wellington, and a return to the iconic Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia. Additionally, they will embark on a journey to Hawaii for two special shows alongside acclaimed reggae/pop act Iration, followed by a run of shows in the United States, including a return to the prestigious California Roots Festival.
