“M’ Shalem (Fulfilled in You)” by Iossa: A Spiritual Musical Journey

99

Iossa’s song “M’ Shalem (Fulfilled in You)” was originally written for a live performance of the VIA CRUCIS (The Stations of the Cross) by a parish in the heart of Naples. This powerful piece has since evolved into a full musical theatre spectacular. After its debut, the song was shared anonymously, quickly gaining immense popularity among believers of both Catholic and Evangelical faiths. Its viral success left many astounded by its origins.

The Hebrew title “שולם” translates to “it is finished” (John 19:30), echoing the final words of Jesus on the Cross. Angelo Iossa, the co-writer and performer, and founder of the project Cantàmmo a Gesù!, has adapted the song’s profound lyrics into English and Spanish. This adaptation aims to spread the original song’s message and healing power to a wider audience, maintaining the essence of its spiritual and emotional impact.
