Maame emerges onto the scene with her stunning debut single “Sure”

61

Soulful, raw, and emotionally rich, Maame emerges onto the scene with her stunning debut single “Sure”. Blending shimmering pop melodies with layered harmonies and introspective lyrics, the track introduces Maame’s distinctive sound — one that refuses to fit neatly into any box.

“Sure” explores the push and pull of vulnerability in relationships, delivered through warm vocals, hypnotic rhythms, and rich, textured production. The track began in collaboration with Hughie Gavin (JAKL) and was completed by producer Chris Durkin, whose subtle but dynamic touch brings the song to life.

Having previously lived in Kent and now based in Leeds, Maame has been quietly carving out her voice in music for several years — contributing vocals to SWIM DEEP’s “To Feel Good,” BBC Radio Kent sessions as part of the Social Singing Choir based in Margate. Maame has performed at Dreamland and Elsewhere in Margate within the choir, and as a solo artist at the POW Festival in Ramsgate. Now stepping into the spotlight, she draws inspiration from artists like Ariana Grande, Amber Mark and Janelle Monáe while staying rooted in a sound all her own.

“Sure” is the first of multiple singles Maame plans to release this year, each revealing a different layer of her
artistic identity.
