Multi talented Producer, Duncan Silvey from United Kingdom, heads a project called Perestroika, which is translated in English as ‘restructuring’ since 2017, which has seen different members and collaborators joining him in the studio and for live shows.
Becoming a new father in 2021, Duncan’s latest EP titled ‘In Aid of Vulnerability’ focuses on the unexplored adversities of becoming a father or a new parent.
The Ep contains messages about parenthood desscribing the mental challenges,difficulties,stress and the sheer joy the experience of being a parent brings at the same time.
‘In Aid of Vulnerability’ is a four track Ep with a full spinning time of 16 minutes 52 seconds. The first track on the Ep is ‘Can See The Horizon, Can’t Take In The View’. The song is a calm ballad that has mesmerizing lyrics and soft instrumental that echoes a peaceful feeling. The next track is ‘I Didn’t Feel Real’, followed by ‘Globus’ and the last track is ‘JL833191A (Hillshop tip remix).
The vocal deliveries on the tracks are phenomenal with a powerful pitch all round.The melodies and rhythms and unique making it evident of the kind of skill and talent that was put into making up such a classic project.. Also the instrumentation of the tracks on the Ep consist of calm piano chords, cool electronic tones and soft kicks coming together to form calm and refreshing instrumentals on all 4 tracks on the Ep. The mixing and mastering on all the tracks were perfectly delivered leaving clearly a fantastic sounding Ep.
Duncan’s ‘In Aid of Vulnerability’ Ep has seen recognition from BBC Introducing in Bristol, Kent, London and BBC 6 Music. The Ep is doing well and it is available on all digital streaming platforms. Every cool music lover should add it to their playlists.
