Neo 21 kicks off 2025 with underdog anthem “Not Nice”

171

Bradford-based Afro-fusion/rap artist Neo 21 makes a big start to the year with “Not Nice,” a bold and infectious track that captures the relentless hustle of the underdog, the drive to exceed expectations, and the consistency required to break barriers. This release sets the stage for a year of impactful music, cementing Neo’s position as one of the North’s most exciting emerging voices.

“Not Nice” is an anthem for the dreamers and hustlers. Blending punchy hip-hop verses with a smooth, melodious hook, Neo’s signature Afro-fusion sound shines through, melting his Nigerian roots with the dynamic energy of UK rap. The track’s raw, uplifting energy mirrors its message of resilience and ambition. Neo 21 explains: “This song is about doing more than intended, which is the energy I’ve been on these past few months. It’s for anyone staying consistent when progress feels slow and making their own opportunities when doors stay closed.”

Originally from Nigeria, Neo has become a vital part of Bradford’s cultural renaissance, collaborating with organizations like Bradford Producing Hub and Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture as well as playing numerous local gigs in 2024. His music, which bridges genres and cultures, has helped position Bradford as a hub for Afro-fusion and hip-hop talent. Neo’s biweekly Afrobeats show on BCB 106.6 FM, regional gigs, and creative collaborations highlight his role not just as a musician but as a cultural force in the city’s creative landscape.

Following the success of “SGMA Remix,” which earned thousands of streams and widespread acclaim, “Not Nice” is the first in a series of releases planned for 2025. It’s more than a song; it’s a statement of perseverance, ambition, and cultural pride.
