Folk-pop New York based singer-songwriter Rachael Sage gifts her enchanting new song titled “Albatross (Reimagined)” this time with rich and progressive- folk artist Crys Matthews. This track tempts a preview of Sage’s upcoming fifteenth studio album Another Side and highlights both her contemplative skills and her generic prowess in making tender acoustic ballads with elements of folk-pop in her instrumental arrangements.

“Albatross (Reimagined)” is a track that employs a vast amount of sounds with Sage vocalizing, playing the acoustic guitar and the djembe; Kelly Halloran on violin; Dave Eggar, cello; Quinn on hand percussion; and Mikhail Pylarov on acoustic bass, piano, harmonium, and other perussions. The additional vocal harmony provided by the talented Crys Matthews provides the song with another dimension that pushes it to the next level.

Fundamentally, it uses acoustic guitar and glistening strings that embrace the listener with another splendid hue of undertones of reminiscence and discovery. It may be necessary to add that Sage’s pronouncing of the lyrics is wonderfully hissing, and in general, the song’s message is conveyed softly and the atmosphere is imbued with calmness.

The song was produced by Sage herself, and outstandingly mixed and mastered by Mikhail Pivovarov and Grammy®-winning producer Andy Zulla. Sage makes good use of vocal and the acoustic instruments and she affirms herself as a musician whose albums people can listen to from beginning to end.

The melody that surfs along with this song and Matthews’ vocals are powerful enough to share a story of a phoenix and guides the listener into the world of harmonic acoustic. Sage and Matthews’ vocals entwine in perfect form and fahsion reminding us of unity during these dark periods.

By mastering the gentle vocal and releasing the song under the minimum accompaniment, “Albatross (Reimagined)” is not only an emblematic piece to describe Sage’s artistic personality and her tendency of lyricism, but also exemplifies her as the tremendous singer-songwriter who is able to compose music which is profound as well as thoughtful.
