Rhys Warden new single ‘ Like A River ‘is out now!
Like A River is the second single from Melbourne-based singer, songwriter and worship leader Rhys Warden’s debut EP Light & Momentary, which was released in March 2023. It’s a reflective song
that deals with themes of heartache and anxiety, wrapped up in a hook-laden, catchy pop song. Rhys began writing the song during Melbourne’s Covid lockdowns of 2020, a time of intense uncertainty and unrest. Although the song deals with heavy themes, the lyrics
speak of hope in the midst of darkness. The musical arrangement of the song supports this with percussive pop-rock acoustic guitars and bright, catchy backing vocals that support the hook-laden and melodic verse and chorus, before steaming towards a powerful,
uplifting bridge.

Rhys calls the song ‘a prayer for peace for healing from past hurts and pain.’ It serves as a reminder that God cares about who we are and who we are becoming as people, culminating in the thought that ‘there’s no place that we can hide, but why would we want to?’
Rhys’ hope is that Like A River will ‘remind listeners of the goodness
of God, who He is as our Saviour and redeemer, and who we are as His children.’
