Rosa Linn, the face of pop music from Armenia have recently released a pop-anthem called “Universe” and now a French version to boot. The song recorded and produced by Grammy Award winner Cirkut, who worked with such artists as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rihanna, let Linn reveal more facets of her talent. Her folksy vocals lead through what may be called the galaxy of deep feelings in the space where there is no concept of hatred to love.
Linn explains “Universe” as a song for dreamers where it is about desiring some one or something that cannot be obtained in this world. The track challenges the listeners to think about another life, completely different circumstances and another world where everything is as the result of personal desire and a sole dream come true.
In French Version, “Universe” turns to an interesting vocal duo with French singer Jeck, who performs a deep, emotional voice, which perfectly harmonizes with Linn. The simplicity of the composition intensifies the sad mood of the song adding and providing it with more emotional touch.
Initiated with the use of acoustic instruments, the track features barely any production and provides space for Rosa’s voice to convey genuine sentiment. It then intensifies to a building pop chorus, and finally slows into what sounds like a soundtrack pop song. Jeck’s contribution complement the song, and adds melody that gives the tape a greater emotional value.
Linn also says that she often tends to daydream to escape the reality and think of stories and things that she cannot get in life. “Universe” brings out the concept of loving someone that one cannot be with in this world, but can probably be with in another universe. The same can be said for the production of the song’s storyline where Linn and her fellow producers took their time to connect and tell stories that touched on their experiences leading to the formation of the storyline of the song.
