The Dave Black Expression Unveils “Let’s Pretend – A Love Song”

142

The Dave Black Expression returns with a heartfelt ballad, Let’s Pretend – A Love Song, a reimagined version of their earlier indie-reggae release, Let’s Pretend.

Inspired by a conversation about what one would do differently at 25, frontman Dave Black found the lyrics flowing effortlessly. “I wrote the base for the song in about ten minutes,” he shares. Initially released with the band’s signature indie-reggae style, the track has now been reworked into a soulful ballad, following encouragement from Black’s wife.

The new version highlights the group’s signature sexy swagger, enriched by a captivating saxophone melody. “This is the only song we’ve recorded twice,” Black explains. “We love this new version—it’s more romantic, more intimate, and truly captures the magic of finding a partner who helps you reach new heights.”

A timeless love song with a fresh twist, Let’s Pretend – A Love Song is set to resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
