“The Mistletoe” by KARMA: A Festive R&B Celebration of Love and Togetherness

284

Memphis and full of energy girl group KARMA has now released, just in time for the holidays, what can be referred to as their holiday song – ‘The Mistletoe’. This festive R&B anthem pays tribute to Destiny’s Child alongside the raucous attitude of TLC, yet it still sounds timeless and innovative; perfect for the Winter. This single which was featured in their Christmas record “Karma Under the Mistletoe” has the right feel for the holiday with humorous lyrics and sleek melodies enhanced by high pitched vocals.

“The Mistletoe” stands for love, togetherness, and happiness of having people you care about during the holiday. The track begins with an interesting promise— something that was seen and met before but is not quite ordinary and can look different. KARMA’s vocals soar, and there’s a real sense of sisterhood and fun going through the music of the whole track. Every verse and chorus in the song has touches on unity and joviality that gives a true essence of the holidays.

Produced by Arthur Levy and Temmora Williams-Levy the songs are vibrant marked by sharp rhythm and tones. Part of the song has a soulful appeal, part is airy and almost departure from the fairy tales, thus giving the track a layer of classy feel. It is excellent instrumental that does fit KARMA’s animated and stylish voice that makes it more professional and sophisticated.

This is as much a holiday song as it is an exultation of the power of Christmas – love, togetherness, and hope, all packaged in the feel-good party track that is “The Mistletoe”. It’s a romantic tune for getting close to the hearth and snuggling with family members and friends this holiday season or in other years to come.
