“The Osprey” is the.new jazz-infused vibe from The Static Dive, aka multi-instrumentalist composer, producer, and recording artist Bob Smith. Built on elements of Cuban son and NYC jazz, the track is the first single and opening track from the forthcoming Bluelight Sessions, Vol. 2, the latest chapter in the Latin jazz/lounge experience introduced in 2023 with Bluelight Sessions, Vol. 1, which is still getting airplay on terrestrial and online stations around the globe.
The Bluelight series marries the syncopated clave soul of traditional Latin jazz with modern fusion and blues. The record features live guitars, keys, bass, drums, congas, and an array of percussion instruments, all composed, performed, and produced by Smith, mixed and mastered by Kilo House. The Static Dive is the professional name of music industry veteran, performer, producer, blogger, and label-owner, Bob Smith. Smith launched the project in 2019 as a new solo exploration of the musical worlds he has traveled over the course of a three-decades in music.
