Viola&Rosa Celebrate Love, Memory, and Family in New Music Video “Rap d’amore”

55

Set against the nostalgic backdrop of 1980s Rome, “Rap d’amore” is more than just a music video—it’s a heartfelt tribute to love across generations. Directed by Christian Dei, the video brings together emotional storytelling, vibrant choreography, and a deeply personal family history.

The stars of the video are Viola Ranalletta and her mother Rosa Maria Bassi, performing a song originally written by Viola’s late father and husband Ettore Ranalletta, who passed away in 2014. Their performance is filled with both warmth and bittersweet reflection, creating a moving homage that bridges past and present.

Filmed at the historic Istituto Cine-Tv Roberto Rossellini in Rome, the project features students from the institute, turning the production into an educational and collaborative experience. Under the guidance of Clemente Sablone, the students contributed to everything from lighting to set design, learning as they helped bring this intergenerational story to life.

Visually, “Rap d’amore” is a love letter to the ’80s. With striking cinematography by Renato Rosati, lively dance choreography by Leonardo Bonfitto, and colorful costumes by Angela Bove, the video captures the era’s joyful spirit. Every detail—from Maria Lucia Rinaldi’s delicate makeup work to Giorgia Orlandi’s nostalgic set design—enhances the emotional layers of the piece.

Produced by Littlefrog Film, with Viola Ranalletta at the helm, “Rap d’amore” shows how music, memory, and creativity can unite generations. It’s a tender reminder that art doesn’t just entertain—it connects us, heals us, and keeps our loved ones close, even after they’re gone.
