Wide-Eyed Lounge Cats unveils  a new single “Gunnhildr”

564

Following the success of their third studio album, *The Watermelon Sessions*, last spring, the Wide-Eyed Lounge Cats are back in the studio where it all began to record a live performance of their original song “Gunnhildr.” The studio, known as the Watermelon Room in Baltimore, MD, has been a pivotal element in the band’s evolution into jazz fusion, offering them the space and presence to explore and discover their unique sound through shared musicianship.

“Gunnhildr” pays homage to the band’s journey and the transformative role the Watermelon Room played in their artistic growth. This live performance showcases their distinctive ability to blend genres into a powerful array of sounds, with the composition drawing inspiration from old Norse folklore and mythology. Through “Gunnhildr,” the Wide-Eyed Lounge Cats continue to push the boundaries of jazz fusion, creating a rich and immersive musical experience.
